STATS: Android has 25% of global smar...

STATS: Android has 25% of global smartphone market, will grow at “twice” the rate of others in 2011



Tech analyst Canalys is BULLISH on Android for the coming year, claiming that the recent meteoric growth the mobile OS has seen shows no sign of stopping.

In fact, its latest projections for 2011 have Android as growing as TWICE the speed of its competitors. Here’s a nice little quote from Canalys Principal Analyst Chris Jones:

“The growth of Android has been phenomenal, but so too has the number of related devices launched with different hardware and software specifications … This has led to the market perception of it as a fragmented platform, though we believe that growth will continue as the pace of Android OS upgrades slows”
