Capture Motion Anywhere!

Capture Motion Anywhere!

AikenLabs Announces New Immersive Motion Accessory

Las Vegas, Nevada January 6, 2011 — AikenLabs announces the upcoming release of their Immersive Motion accessory product line being demonstrated in CES booth #5221. Designed using the latest sensor and wireless technologies, the Immersive Motion system offers portable, high resolution motion interfaces for desktops, mobile devices, and select consoles.

With Immersive Motion, you are no longer restricted to the confines of your living room, forced to move your furniture, or tethered to the chair in front of your screen. This platform independent motion capture system gives the consumer personal motion control allowing users to integrate with their PCs/mobile devices and interact with other users in practically any setting.

Immersive Motion takes the control experience to the next level by being completely customizable. Virtually any existing application can be motion enabled by easily mapping gestures and motions to emulate joystick/gamepad controls, mouse, and/or keyboards. Profiles can be created for use with existing software and even uploaded and shared with other users!

AikenLabs' Immersive Motion system is composed of three main functional units: radio modules, remote sensors, and a radio base unit. The radio modules and remote sensors can be worn by the player or mounted on any object to form a custom controller while the radio base unit is connected to the host system. Each radio module and remote sensor device contains three MEMS-based sensor elements to form a high-accuracy 9 axis Inertial Measurement Unit allowing the sensor elements to be exceptionally small and lightweight.

Immersive Motion will be available in two editions. The "Desktop Edition" will be available in two variants; a Starter Kit for use in basic gaming interfaces and a Professional version specifically developed for full-body motion capture applications. In addition, the Immersive Motion accessory system will offer connectivity to mobile platforms. The "Mobile Edition" will utilize the same radio and remote sensors, and will offer an additional Bluetooth module for wireless connection to most mobile & smart phones/PDAs.

Immersive Motion brings wireless motion capture to the average consumer on almost any platform that supports a USB port. Now motion control is personal…strap on a few lightweight Immersive Motion sensors and it belongs to you, and can go wherever the game moves you!
