Law enforcement in Erie County, New York has enlisted the Leica Scan Station, a laser-based device that takes measurements of all within its 450-foot field of view, making a 360-degree scan of a scene.
High-definition pictures are overlaid on data points to create a three-dimensional view of a room. The Leica Scan Station costs $175,000, reports area news radio station WBEN.
