Google killed my editor?

I have been happily using Google Docs for years to create and post articles and notes. But newest DOCs has deleted that magic Share pathway. SO by hunting around there is now a Chrome applet added to its bar that kicks my intenet huntings into this edition environment. I see no idiot button that allows total WYSIWYG edition and no tool for images, video, and other media insertions...
