CMOS Sensor from OmniVision Handles Simultaneous Video and Image Capture
OmniVision's latest CMOS sensor for mobile devices is capable of recording 1080p HD video while taking 10 megapixel image bursts at the same time. The OV10810p module is formated in a 16:9 aspet ratio and a full field of view during recording. It can capture 1080p HD video at 30 frames per second, or 720p HD video at 60 frames per second. OmniVision also notes that when set to lower resolutions, the OC10810p has improved low-light sensitivity. The sensor, which is intended for smartphones, is already sampling to manufacturers.
