Android Takes 4 of 5 Prizes in “Apps for the Army” Challenge

Android is proving to be not only beneficial (and fun) in everyday consumer usage, but now we're seeing how practical it can be in other situations. Take for instance the recent Apps for the Armycontest which asked developers to submit applications that can help out on a daily basis, in various scenarios. Submissions were judged in five categories by a panel of Army staff. Would you be surprised to learn Android-based apps took home a boatload of prizes? Not only did Android end up with four of the top five overall winners, but they accounted for two of the top three in each of the five categories.Here's a quick video showing what the Army was looking for in the submissions.
