Garmin Connect Course Creator Nearly Ready
Map and Export Routes to Garmin Sports GPS Devices
I'm an enthusiastic user of the Garmin Connect site, which is
free, and has terrific logging and mapping features for athletes
using any of Garmin's wide range of sports GPSdevices. There
are a couple of things on my wish list for Garmin Connect,
however, including the ability to easily create a detailed road
route map and export it to a Garmin GPS device. Garmin
came close to granting that wish recently with the announcement
and beta rollout of a newCourse Creator feature.
"With the new Course Creator, you will be able to quickly
and easily draw your course of choice laid over detailed
maps and know exactly how far you will be going," states
Garmin. "After creating your course, simply send it to your
compatible device and you are ready to embark on another
journey or epic workout."
The beta release had some bugs that will require the attention
of Garmin's programmers, so it has been temporarily
withdrawn from Connect. It's good to know this super-useful
addition is nearly ready, and I look forward to reviewing
it here.Image © Garmin
