Motorola needs some

Analyst: Motorola XOOM & Atrix 4G Sales are Disappointing

Mobilewack

The mobile market is very saturated with different hardware manufacturers looking top make their mark on the community. Due to this, it’s very hard for new devices (especially ones with high price tags) to create waves. Of course, that is, unless you’re Apple as just about every one of their products manages to sell like hot cakes not longer after hitting the market. Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem be the case with Motorola.

While many of Motorola’s smartphones including the original Droid and the newer Droid X have managed to sell well, reports suggests the same cannot be said for their Honeycomb powered tablet, the Motorola XOOM, and their NVIDIA Tegra 2 powered smartphone, the Motorola ATRIX 4G. According to these reports, an analyst by the name of James Faucette from Pacific Crest has said that sales of both the XOOM and ATRIX 4G have been disappointing. Due to these, he has been forced to lower his revenue expectations for Motorola’s 2011 year from $13.7 billion to $12.25 billion. This goes to show you how important these new devices are to the healthy operations of the companies actually putting out said devices.
Of course, seeing how this is just analyst speculation sales of both the XOOM and Atrix 4G can skyrocket at any given moment but from the looks of it, it doesn’t seem as if that will be happening any time soon.
