Most Androids are on 2.2 currently

STATS: Android 2.3 now on 9% of Android phones

Google has once again updated the OS statistics heaven that is itsPlatform Versions data, showing that Android 2.2 remains the most commonplace form of the mobile OS by far – with the combined versions of Android 2.3 gradually emerging and powering a total of just over 9% of all Android phones.
2.1 is still pretty big out there, too. Here’s the friendly green pie chart, which shows data gathered by counting phones that connected to Google’s servers in the two-week period ending June 1st:

The tablets are yet to really gain any significant “traction” it would seem. Theprevious data for May had Android 2.3 on only 4% of phones.
