Sygic Unveils Android Navigation SDK
Mobile navigation supplier Sygic has unveiled a new version of its Software Development Kit that allows businesses to embed its navigation software into professional mobile solutions running on the Android platform.
The lowering price of Android smartphones and the overall quality of the software makes it an interesting platform to port mobile business software dedicated to logistics, transportation and maintenance.
“With the move to Android we have enabled the modern and cheap hardware with GPS - be it a simple mobile phone, smartphone, PDA, PND or a tablet - to be used by professionals in field workforce solutions, including but not limited to logistics and transportation, field service and maintenance, as well as by sales representatives,“ said Viktor Bielko, the Head of Sygic FLEET products.
The navigation plug-in works on Windows OS in addition to Android, and offers a software development kit for C#, C++, Visual Basic .NET and Java.
